It is important to understand that the Ship From address will not be your supplier’s address. It represents the shipment’s last stop where all necessary prep-work, such as labeling and palletizing, is completed before the delivery is handed over to Amazon.

Amazon Seller Central requires the Ship From address to calculate logistics costs, assign the appropriate FBA destination warehouse (Ship To address), and determine shipping rates. Determining the Ship From Address (US)

When shipping to Amazon US, initial setup requires inputting the logistics partner's designated receiving warehouse. For instance, Flexport advises using their Los Angeles warehouse address initially:

The purpose of using a West Coast Ship From address is to increase the likelihood of Amazon assigning a West Coast fulfillment center (e.g., ONT8). If Amazon assigns an East Coast FBA warehouse, the Ship From address must be updated accordingly:
